Thank You. Thanks.
The results are in. Through your generosity we were able to smash our giving goal with $1425 going to ISF. What’s even better is we were able to get $1375 in before the Giving Tuesday deadline so The JEM Project could match our donation.
Join Our Give and Save Challenge This Fall
When you donate $25 or more to the Isabella Santos Foundation (ISF), we’ll take 10% off* junk removal and moving help.
The goal of the challenge is to raise $1,000+ for ISF between Labor Day (9.5.22) and Pearl Harbor Day (12.7.22).
How it Works
When you schedule junk removal or moving help with us, let us know that you’d like to participate in the Give and Save Challenge and how much you’d be willing to give. We’ll include the donation amount in the invoice as well as the discount.
We’ll process the donation with ISF and you’ll receive an email confirmation from the foundation once the donation has been submitted. We do batch donations, so there may be a lag between making the donation and receiving the receipt.
We’ll also ask and voluntarily apply the promo when it saves money. And most of the time it’ll save money for you while also raising money for an incredible cause.
Why We're Doing This
We started Trash and Stash with the belief that we could provide an honest service people needed and wanted. It was also important for us to find ways to give back to our community.
Trash and Stash is a COVID baby. Our origin coincided with a perceived breakdown of society. Tons of nastiness on TV and social media. But when we went outside, people were still people. Eager to connect and eager to help. We wanted our business to be part of the fabric of the place. A source of pride and a force for good.
From the beginning, the support we received from the local community was overwhelming and humbling. Not only were people willing to give a new business a chance, our neighbors rooted for us. They found ways to help us get our feet under us. They built a runway. We’re grateful.
This support shaped our “think local, act local” philosophy. The idea that small acts at the local level can have big impacts on the people closest to us. As we were looking for ways to give back, we crossed paths with the Isabella Santos Foundation (ISF). They’ve been our giving partner ever since. First, with our 2nd Life Program and then our Give and Save Promotion.
Trash & Stash is an incredible community partner. Since Cameron and I met, he has been dedicated to finding ways his company can support ISF. Through their various give-back programs, Trash & Stash helps spread the ISF mission and raise funds that directly impact kids fighting rare cancers. Trash & Stash has found a unique way to help their customers donate to pediatric cancer and save money on their service at the same time. A true win-win for all! Not only are they incredibly professional and focused on quality customer service, they truly care about their community and it shows! Thank you to all the Trash & Stash customers who take advantage of the ‘Give & Save’ opportunity, and thank you to Cameron and his team!
Karen Murphy, Director of Sponsorships and Partnerships, ISF
ISF is an unbelievable partner! Their cause is important, their community is strong and they are so supportive and so generous to us. We most certainly get more from them than we can give. But… we’re trying to even the ledger.
We’ve been running the Give and Save promotion for a while. It’s a full time discount that we’ll always honor. We realized though, that not enough people are taking advantage of it. The truth is, most of our customers will save money with it.
We’re using this challenge to make more people aware of the discount. We’re also using it to hold us accountable. We should be telling more people about it and voluntarily applying it more often. It’s a win- win and every one of our customers should know about it!
Ways You Can Help
I never feel like we're doing enough. I'm so grateful for the support we receive from ISF, I'm constantly looking for new ways to stay involved. To hold up our end of the bargain. Then I realized, we could do better with the giving programs we already have in place. By making more people aware of the Give and Save Promo and by doing a better job of applying it whenever we could save our customers, we could drive significantly more donations that give aid in the fight against pediatric cancer.
Cameron Ungar, Owner, Trash and Stash
The first way to help is to participate. The Isabella Santos Foundation is a great organization doing important work for families right here in the Charlotte area.
We provide a valuable service by taking the burden of clutter, trash and moving off your shoulders. So, if you’ve been putting this household task off for a while; now’s the time to have us take care of it for you. By doing so, we’ll cover the cost of the donation and will probably even give some money back to you. [BOOK JUNK REMOVAL HERE]
Another way to help is to give more. The minimum donation to take advantage of the discount is $25. But you’re free to give more (it’d be really cool if you matched the donation with the discount!)! Every dollar counts towards our goal but more importantly, goes to fight rare pediatric cancer.
Finally, we’d love for you to share the challenge with others. Here are a couple of graphics you can share on social media to help spread the word. In addition to sharing the graphics we would LOVE for you to tag both Trash and Stash and ISF in your post.
Restrictions
Every promotion has a set of restrictions and these are ours.
- The Give and Save discount is only applicable for donations of $25 or more.
- Trash and Stash promotions cannot be combined and the discount cannot be taken off curbside bulk waste pickups.
- The discount is good for 10% off junk removal and moving help only. It does not apply to 2nd Life purchases or microstorage rent. The maximum discount is $100.
About the Isabella Santos Foundation
In 2009, ISF was established through Isabella’s parents to raise awareness and research funds for Neuroblastoma and received it’s 501(c)(3) status in 2010. At the time, Isabella’s parents were in hopes that ISF could help fund research projects potentially to save Isabella’s life. Although Isabella is no longer with us, we hope another child can be saved and will continue to raise money and awareness for the awful disease that stole her life.
ISF is dedicated to improving rare pediatric cancer treatment options in an effort to increase survival rates of kids with cancer. Over the course of twelve years, ISF has funded nearly $4 million toward expanding the scope of research and treatment, and supporting families dealing with cancer in a variety of ways.
